▶ Workshop Proposal Information

As traditional in the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, IV’24 will organize a workshops day covering emerging hot topics in Intelligent Vehicles arena, on topics related to the general scope of the conference.

You are invited to submit a proposal for either a half-day or full-day workshop on a research topic of interest to IV attendees. The workshops will take place on June 2, 2024.

Workshops should concentrate on presenting results and promoting discussions about an active research topic or a well-defined area of interest for the intelligent vehicles community. Proposals with content or presentation formats that are not found within the main conference are preferred. Workshop proposals should discuss how the workshop will be organized to attract active participation of the attendees, encourage effective interactions between established experts and early-career researchers, promote comprehensive discussion on the selected topic, establish useful links to fields outside of robotics, and if applicable, describe how sponsors will contribute to enhance the workshop. Organizers are also asked to describe the contributions of the invited speakers for enhancing the development of an engaging workshop. If good proposals on closely related topics are received, acceptance may be conditional based on merging similar proposals into one workshop.

Required Proposal Information

The workshop proposal must contain the following information:
  • Title
  • Main Contact Person / Organizers
  • Type of workshop (half-day or full-day), including a tentative schedule
  • Objectives
  • Sponsor/support (if applicable)
  • List of speakers (if applicable)
  • Expected attendance
  • Special requests (equipment or other issues)

The workshops proposals will be evaluated based on all information provided in the form and decisions will be made based on:

(i) the topic of the proposed event,

(ii) the event’s format and likelihood of creating an engaging intellectual environment, and

(iii) the inclusiveness of the event to people with different backgrounds and expertise.

Join via Zoom!

During the upcoming IEEE IV 2024 conference, workshops will provide Zoom meetings as an option. Even those who didn't register for the conference will have the opportunity to join the Zoom meetings for the workshops. Some of the presenters and organizers of certain workshop sessions will also participate via Zoom.

For this year's conference, only the invited speakers who won't be participating in the entire event will be able to join the presentations through Zoom. However, presenters who have submitted papers are required to attend the conference in person.

To address the challenges of distance and the cost of traveling to Jeju, some advantages will be given to participants, allowing them to attend certain sessions online.

Furthermore, selected sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the conference's YouTube channel. These uploaded materials will indicate that the workshop was held during IEEE IV 2024, using the appropriate logo or other identifying elements.

Submission

Please submit your proposal with the requested information as a single .pdf file via email to the following email address: (workshops@2024.ieee-iv.org)

Organizers Responsibilities After Proposal Acceptance

In submitting a proposal, workshop organizers are committing to identifying and inviting authors, following the deadlines to ensure timely submissions and timely publication, and assigning necessary associate editors / reviewers in advance of the submission deadlines.

For any inquiries concerning IV’24 workshops, please send email to workshops@2024.ieee-iv.org.
