The 25th F1TENTH Autonomous Grand Prix

F1TENTH Autonomous Racing (https://f1tenth.org/) is a recurring international competition driven by a passionate community of researchers, engineers, and autonomous systems enthusiasts. At IV 2025, participating teams will design and build a 1:10 scale autonomous race car following provided specifications and develop software that enables their vehicle to meet two core objectives: avoid collisions and minimize lap times.

The IV 2025 edition will emphasize in-person, physical racing. Each team is required to bring their own self-built F1TENTH race car. Detailed build manuals and open-source software resources are available from the organizers to support teams throughout their preparation. The competition will provide a standardized track setup, clear guidelines, and all necessary infrastructure to ensure a fair and exciting racing environment.

Competition Format

The event will be divided into two stages:

  • Qualification Round
    Teams will run solo time trials on a clear track to determine seeding and assess baseline algorithm performance. 
  • Knockout Round
    Qualified teams will race head-to-head, putting their autonomous perception, planning, and control algorithms to the test under real-time, dynamic conditions.

With hardware standardized across all teams, the challenge lies in developing robust, real-time software algorithms capable of handling uncertainty, competition dynamics, and high-speed decision-making.

Registration

  • Fee: 10 EUR per team member.
  • Team size: Up to 4 members per team
  • Requirement: Each team must designate at least one Team Leader, who will serve as the primary point of contact.

Two winning teams will receive prizes, including monetary awards, trophies, and certificates of participation.
